Born to Run Farm Weddings in North Jersey What to Expect from Start to Finish

Planning a wedding can feel overwhelming, but at Born to Run Farm, we walk with you through every stage. From your first visit to the moment you step onto the dance floor, our family team handles the details so you can relax and enjoy the journey. Here is what couples experience when they choose our Glen Gardner venue.

Your Wedding Day Journey at Born to Run Farm

Every couple's experience unfolds in three natural stages: planning with our family team, celebrating on the property, and remembering the moments that made your day unique. We have refined this process since opening in 2016 to eliminate common wedding day stress. Below is exactly what happens when you choose our Glen Gardner venue, from your first property tour to the last dance under the Edison bulbs.

The Planning Phase Begins with Personalized Guidance

We start with a property tour. Since a reservation is necessary to view the farm, this gives us dedicated time to learn about your vision. You will meet our team, see the mountain top views that captivated Jay and Joan Gerish when they purchased the land in 1978, and walk the ceremony site beside the pond. Our staff guides the planning process, answering questions about your guest count, timeline, and setup preferences.

Once you book, we help you select your package. The Daisy includes our 40-foot by 100-foot tent with Edison bulb lighting, a chandelier, carpet flooring, and side walls. You also get a 28-foot by 18-foot dance floor, a ceremony site with an arbor, 20 round tables, 240 white resin folding chairs, and a cocktail hour setup with wine barrel bars. If you want farm tables and our vintage horse trailer bar, the Elouise package adds those. The Dorothy package includes everything, plus the bridal suite available five hours before your wedding, outdoor lounge furniture, and an engagement photo session.

What Happens on Event Day

Your team arrives knowing exactly what to expect because we coordinate every detail ahead of time. If you booked the bridal suite, you have five hours to get ready in a private space before the ceremony. Our golf cart services help move you and your guests across the property comfortably. The staff sets up your ceremony beside the pond or under the arbor, arranges a cocktail hour at the wine barrel bar, and prepares the main tent with your chosen tables and the chandelier overhead.

Guests park in our designated area and walk through open pastures where our 30 cows, dozen sheep, two donkeys, and chickens roam. None of the animals is sent to market. They live full, happy lives on the farm, and visitors love seeing them. This working farm atmosphere gives your celebration an authentic feel you cannot replicate at traditional venues.

From Ceremony to Reception Without Logistics Stress

After your vows, guests move to the cocktail hour while we flip the ceremony space. Our team handles this transition so you can focus on your first moments as newlyweds. Cocktail hour includes wine barrels and the setup you chose in your package. Then everyone steps into the tent for dinner and dancing. The 40-foot by 100-foot space holds your round tables or farm tables, the dance floor, and the reception bar. Edison bulbs and the chandelier create warm lighting as the sun sets over Point Mountain.

Farm Weddings

If you added outdoor lounge furniture, guests can relax by the fire pit between courses or after the reception. The bathroom trailer, required for weddings with more than 75 guests, keeps everyone comfortable throughout the evening. Table numbers and umbrellas are included, along with staff support that adapts to whatever you need.

Working with Your Vendors

We provide a list of preferred vendors, including caterers like WillowSage and Bex, photographers such as Janine Collette and Wildflower, florists like Solstice and Dutch Valley, and entertainers from Showoff and DJ Express. You choose who fits your style best. Our team coordinates with them on setup times and logistics so everyone arrives prepared.

What Guests Remember

The view. Testimonials mention the mountain top setting, the pond, and the sunset. One guest called it an incredible location, beautifully maintained. Another said it was the perfect venue with an amazing family-run staff. The 4.8 out of 5 rating across 63 Google reviews reflects what couples feel when they look back on their day here.

We transformed this property from a family getaway and horse training space into a wedding venue in 2016, but the land still feels personal. That is intentional. Every wedding should feel unique, relaxing, and unforgettable, not like one more event in a rotation.
