Why Couples Love Hosting a Farm Wedding Venue Celebration Here

We've hosted hundreds of couples at Born to Run Farm on Point Mountain since 2016, and we can tell you exactly what keeps bringing people back to our pastures. It's not just the views, though those mountain top vistas do stop people mid-sentence. It's the way your grandmother can pet a donkey before your ceremony. It's how our Edison bulb-lit tent glows against the sunset. It's that moment when you realize your wedding doesn't have to fit anyone else's template.

What Makes a Farm Wedding Venue Feel Different

We've watched couples walk our property for the first time, and there's usually a moment when their whole plan shifts. Maybe they were picturing a barn, or they thought farm meant compromise. Then they see the tent with the chandelier, the mountain views, the way our working farm creates a backdrop that feels both elegant and real. A farm wedding here doesn't mean choosing between rustic charm and refined celebration. You get both, and you get them on your terms.

Let's walk through what that actually looks like when you're planning your day.

The Setting Writes Half Your Story

When Jay and Joan Gerish bought this land in 1978, they were captivated by what they saw from the ridge. That same view now frames your ceremony. Our arbor sits where the pasture opens to the valley, and your guests watch you make promises with North Jersey rolling out behind you. The pond reflects the late afternoon light. Our 30 cows graze in the distance, completely unbothered by the fact that you're having the most important day of your life.

This is a working farm, and that matters more than you might think. Your flower girl can meet our dozen sheep before she walks the aisle. Your photographer will find our chickens wandering through golden hour. None of our animals leave for market. They live here, and on your wedding day, so do you.

Spaces That Bend to Your Vision, Not the Other Way Around

We give you a 40-by-100-foot tent with a chandelier, Edison bulb lighting, and carpet underfoot. Inside, you'll find 20 round tables, 240 white resin chairs, and a 28-by-18-foot dance floor. But here's what couples love: you decide what that space becomes. Our 20 farm tables can run the length of the tent for a family-style dinner, or you can mix them with round tables. Our vintage horse trailer bar can serve craft cocktails or local beer. The outdoor lounge furniture creates a fire pit gathering spot where your uncle and your college roommate finally meet.

You're not walking into a ballroom with everything fixed. You're walking into a structure that holds your ideas.

Guidance Without the Generic Package

We're a family operation, and we've learned that no two celebrations look alike. Some couples want an intimate gathering of 40. Others bring 200. We've set up ceremony sites for morning vows and moved to the same space for sunset receptions. Our bridal suite opens five hours before your wedding, which means your getting-ready photos happen in natural light with mountain views through the windows. Our golf cart services move grandparents from the parking to the ceremony without anyone getting winded.

What couples tell us they love most: we guide you through planning, but we don't hand you a checklist that looks like everyone else's wedding. You get our attention to detail, and our experience, but the decisions stay yours.

The Practical Stuff That Keeps Everything Smooth

Our ceremony site comes with an arbor, chairs, and benches already in place. Your cocktail hour flows naturally to our wine barrel bar setup while we flip the ceremony space. The reception bar is stocked and staffed. We include table numbers, umbrellas if the weather turns, and a fire pit that becomes the gathering spot once dancing winds down. For weddings over 75 guests, we bring in a bathroom trailer sized to your count, because no one should wait in line at their own celebration.

We also provide a list of preferred vendors, caterers, photographers, and florists who know our property and how to work with our setup. You're welcome to explore those relationships or bring your own team.

Why Intimate Doesn't Mean Small

Some of our favorite weddings have been our largest. Some have been our smallest. Size doesn't determine intimacy. A couple who want 180 people celebrating with them can still create a night that feels personal when those people are surrounded by pasture instead of ballroom walls. Our tent holds grand celebrations, but the fire pit and the pond and the mountain top itself keep reminding everyone why they're here: to watch two people they love start something new.

Farm Wedding Venue

And if you do want a smaller gathering, our flexible spaces mean you're not rattling around in a venue built for crowds. You get the same mountain views and the same attention, just scaled to your circle.

What Your Guests Will Remember

People remember the donkeys. They remember walking past our cows on the way to their seats. They remember the way the Edison bulbs started glowing as the sun dropped behind the ridge. They remember your first dance under a chandelier that's hanging in a tent in the middle of a field. They remember that your wedding felt like you, not like a wedding factory's idea of romance.

Our 4.8-star rating from 63 Google reviews keeps mentioning the same things: the views, the staff, and the realization that a farm wedding doesn't mean rustic compromise. You can have elegance and animals on the same day.

It's Still a Celebration on Your Terms

We opened this venue in 2016 because we'd already fallen in love with this land. We thought other people might want to celebrate here, too, and we were right. But what we didn't expect was how much we'd learn from watching couples shape this space into their own vision. Some string café lights through the trees. Some bring in a live band that plays until the fire pit embers fade. Some design a dessert station near the vintage horse trailer bar. Some keep it simple and let the sunset do the work.

You get our guidance, our preferred vendor relationships, and our knowledge of how to move 200 people smoothly from ceremony to reception. But the celebration itself? That's yours.
