Why Couples From North Jersey Love Getting Married in Glen Gardner, NJ

Most couples meet this place the same way. They come up Mountain Top Road, the trees open, and the view arrives all at once. Then they stop talking. That reaction is the reason our family turned a working farm into a wedding venue in 2016, and it is still the most honest pitch we have.

We are Born to Run Farm, an open air wedding venue in Glen Gardner, NJ, sitting on top of Point Mountain. A lot of the couples we host come from closer to the city, and they tend to tell us the same things about why they made the drive.

Why North Jersey Couples Keep Choosing Glen Gardner

Room, scenery, and a pace guests pick up on before they reach the tent. Jay and Joan Gerish bought this land in 1978 and used it as a family getaway and a place to train horses. The family opened the farm to weddings in 2016. What sits here now is a real working farm with a full event setup already on it, and that combination is the part couples say they could not find closer to home.

The setting carries most of the design

Our ceremony site comes with an arbor, chairs, and benches, and the mountain top views sit behind all of it. Couples who arrive with a long decor list usually shorten it once they stand where their vows will happen. The land has already done the work.

Photographers figure this out fast. Golden hour on top of Point Mountain is a different kind of light, and the vintage horse trailer bar, included with our Elouise package or available on its own, ends up in more galleries than we ever planned for.

Garden wedding

It is still a working farm, and your guests will feel it

About 30 cows live here, along with a dozen sheep, two donkeys, chickens, and a few other barnyard regulars. None of them are sent to the market. They live out full lives right here, which is a decision our family made a long time ago and has never revisited.

Guests respond to that. Kids especially. It gives the day a texture a ballroom cannot manufacture, and it is a big reason couples choose a farm wedding venue in New Jersey over something more conventional.

Most of what your day needs is already on site

Our packages start with The Daisy. It brings a tent measuring 40 feet by 100 feet, with electric, Edison bulb lighting, carpet flooring, a chandelier, and side walls, plus a second tent at 20 feet by 40 feet. Inside, you get 20 round tables in 60 inch and 72 inch options, 240 white resin folding chairs, and a dance floor measuring 28 feet by 18 feet. Cocktail hour is set with a wine barrel bar and wine barrels, and there is a reception bar for later in the night.

Every wedding package also includes 6 banquet tables, table numbers and umbrellas, staff support, golf cart services, a parking area, and a fire pit. Weddings above 75 guests need a bathroom trailer, and the size depends on your final count. The Elouise adds 20 farm tables and the vintage horse trailer bar. Dorothy adds a bridal suite you can use for 5 hours before the wedding, outdoor lounge furniture, and an engagement photo session. If you only want one piece, items like the champagne wall and the farm tables are available on their own.

A family owned venue means you talk to the family

You will not get passed through four coordinators here. We walk couples through the planning, we adjust the setup to what you actually want, and our staff stays attentive on the day itself. That is easier to promise when the people running the farm are the same people who grew up on it.

We keep a preferred vendor list to take some weight off the rest of it. It covers caterers, entertainment, photographers, florists, transportation, rentals, liquor distribution, hotels, and event planners, so you are starting from names that already know how this property runs.

Come see it before you decide

Glen Gardner is quiet. That is the point. Couples come out here because they want a wedding that feels like a day on a mountain with the people they love, not a shift in a hall with another party queued up behind them.

If that sounds like your day, fill out the form on our pricing page and we will send over the pricing guide. When you want to walk the property, contact us at  973-349-0129 or email Joseph@borntorunfarm.com. One thing to know before you drive out. A reservation is necessary to view the property, so tell us you are coming and we will make the time.
