Planning an outdoor wedding can feel overwhelming, especially when you're trying to coordinate vendors, manage guest logistics, and still enjoy the process. At Born to Run Farm in Glen Gardner, NJ, we've spent years helping couples work through exactly that. Sitting on top of Point Mountain with open skies above and a working farm around you, our venue was designed to take the pressure off so you can focus on what actually matters: getting married.
Here's what we've learned makes the biggest difference.
Build Your Plan Around the Venue's Inclusions
One of the fastest ways to reduce stress is knowing exactly what's already covered before you start adding vendors. At Born to Run Farm, every wedding package includes the foundational pieces most couples spend weeks sourcing on their own.
Choose a Package That Fits Your Vision
We offer three main packages. The Daisy covers the core setup, including a 40-by-100-foot tent with Edison bulb lighting, carpet flooring, a chandelier, and side walls, plus a 20-by-40-foot tent, 20 round tables, 240 white resin folding chairs, a ceremony site with an arbor and seating, a cocktail hour setup with a wine barrel bar, and a reception bar. The dance floor runs 28 by 18 feet, which gives your guests real room to move.
The Elouise adds farm tables and the vintage horse trailer bar, which consistently becomes one of the most photographed spots at any reception. If you want to start the day in the bridal suite and wind down with outdoor lounge furniture after the ceremony, The Dorothy covers all of that, plus an engagement photo session.
Use the Preferred Vendor List as a Starting Point
We work with a curated group of vendors who know this property well, from caterers like WillowSage, Bex, and Qcrew to photographers, florists, entertainment teams, and transportation. Starting here shortens your research time significantly. These vendors have worked on-site before, which means fewer surprises on the day itself.

Account for Guest Count Early
Every package includes staff support, golf cart services, a parking area, and a fire pit. For weddings with more than 75 guests, a bathroom trailer is required, and the size scales with your count. Getting your guest list estimated early lets us help you plan for the right setup from the start rather than adjusting last-minute.
Know What You Can Add On
If your package doesn't include everything you want, several items are available individually: a champagne wall, bridal suite access, farm tables, outdoor lounge furniture, and the vintage horse trailer. These à la carte options give you flexibility without committing to a larger package if your guest count or budget doesn't call for it.
Let the Setting Do the Work
Point Mountain gives you natural scenery that would cost significantly more to replicate elsewhere. The mountain top views, open pastures, the pond, the working farm with cows, sheep, donkeys, and chickens, all become part of the atmosphere without any extra effort from you. Guests consistently comment on how different the experience feels compared to a traditional venue. A reservation is required to tour the property, so we'd recommend seeing it in person before making any decisions.
Closing
Planning an outdoor wedding doesn't have to mean managing everything yourself. When the venue comes with real infrastructure, a team that's done this hundreds of times, and scenery that sets the tone before a single decoration goes up, the planning process feels far more manageable. We'd love to walk you through the spaces and help you figure out which package fits your day.
